Ultimate Death

   It is said that death is the ultimate reality and visits people only once. However, some people are born to challenge old beliefs and in hindsight, it can be said that Subhash Chandra Bose died to break this notion. His death has become the subject of intense speculation and research in the later half of the 20th century. Of late, many theories have been floating on the nature and timing of his “real” death. National and even international agencies have postulated a number of reasons which range from the far-fetched to the downright bizarre. The Indian government theory, the Sadhu story, the Soviet connection and a conspiracy theory, gumnami baba story, Stalin killed Netaji theory, just skim the surface of what can be regarded as the most challenging modern day mysteries. And the last word on Netaji’s death still continues to elude us. Whenever a new committee is formed to probe truth, the matter becomes even more dense.
For a child to get to know about Subhash Chandra Bose's death is like knowing a sunset theory—we were taught from our childhood that the sun rises from the east and sets in the west, which causes day and night, and then we were taught that the sun actually never sets, it revolves on its axis which causes day and night. Similarly, children were told that he died on 18th August in 1945 in a plane crash; government declared his death on that date. However, as a child grows is gradually introduced to Netaji's other “deaths” too.
The irony of the situation is that while we know when Gautama Buddha died, no substantial or satisfying answer can be found to Netaji’s death. We are unable to answer this question, not because we don't have any record of his death. On the contrary, the number of records to be found on the death of this man far exceeds our imagination. This leads one to ask that are we, as Indian citizens, not entitled to know the truth.
The Central Govt. of India has 41 files related to the subject of Netaji’s death tagged as classified and therefore not allowed to be disclosed. So, one naturally assumes that there is definitely something fishy that the government deems worthy to hide from the common man. In an oppositional move, the government of West Bengal has released 64 files related to Netaji's death. Rather than clearing the mystery, these files have only added up to deepen the mystery. Presently, one feels that short of fighting an election and being elected as the Prime Minister, there is nothing the common man can do to unearth the reality of Netaji’s death.
An RTI application seeking information on the issue was denied on the pretext that it may affect our country's diplomatic relations with Britain and Russia. Such furtive moves by the state raise a plethora of questions. What is the state actually trying to hide under the garb of protecting national and international interests? Does every citizen of this nation not have a right to know the truth? Or are we really demanding too much from  the world’s largest democracy?

Failure or Success

Mahatma Gandhi ji always tried to make all Indians a unit. But everyone of us tried to make ourselves as the leader of that unit. And we Failed. We always used to pull leg of the fellow, who is trying to get out of the pit. We think he will become successful and we will remain where we are. But we never thought in the other direction. May be after getting out of the pit, he will hold your hand, take you out, and take you to the up-steps of the success. Friends, help others, god will help you. And the day will come, when you will be the successful.
